The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, a woman whose courage and activism for democracy have been recognized worldwide.
Unfortunately, not everyone is happy, particularly Cram O’Broda, a “local patriot”, self-proclaimed political analyst, and full-time Facebook fascist who believes he was the true unsung hero of the year.
Cram, known in Carrickmorrons for his tireless efforts in protecting bins, Facebook comment sections, and white male fragility, claims the Nobel Committee “has gone woke beyond repair.”
“It’s all DEI now, Diversity, Entitlement, and Immigration!” he ranted during his daily 3-hour Facebook Live from his parked Nissan Micra. “I’ve spent months defending this country from transgender billionaire migrants messing with my recycling bins, and not even a nomination! Absolute disgrace.”
O’Bryda, who recently made headlines for proudly declaring “I hate Ukrainians as much as Pakistanis and Nigerians, so I’m not racist,” believed his dedication to equality in hatred made him a strong candidate for the Nobel.
According to sources close to the man (mainly his dog, and two fake accounts named “Aishling ÓPatriot” and “Truth4Ireland1979”), Cram had been rehearsing his acceptance speech for weeks. He had even planned to thank his local priest, his favorite meme page, and “the brave lads of the Says No movement, who continue to guard Ireland’s roundabouts from foreign invaders.”
Still, O’Broda says he would have accepted Trump’s win with grace.
“At least Trump earned it,” he explained. “I mean, pulling off a ceasefire while helping speed up a genocide? That’s next-level diplomacy. Me, I’m still learning, but I’d say I’m not far behind, just doing it locally, you know? One Facebook post at a time.”
Political analysts, however, point out that María Corina Machado received the award for her long-standing activism and leadership, not for her ethnicity or gender.
“This is about her contribution to democracy and peace,” said Dr. Sinéad Ní Bhreandáin, expert in political sciences at the University of Louth. “The Nobel committee doesn’t hand out awards for harassing foreigners online or filming your bins in slow motion to prove a migrant conspiracy.”
She added that the Nobel committee has a history of questionable choices,
“so if it was really about giving prizes to moral disasters, Cram could have stood a chance, but Kissinger already filled that spot decades ago.”
For now, Cram says he’s taking time off social media to “focus on himself”, by posting inspirational quotes about persecution every two hours and blocking anyone who leaves an unwanted react.
